Influenced by the rhythms of New Orleans, Blues and Soul music, this is an album of original songs by Sam Linton-Smith, featuring some of Melbourne’s best musicians.

Oh yeah, got to speak loud in the praise of the ladies and gentlemen who graced my space with their particular speciality and expertise, they created a vision in music and groove that’s true.

It all starts with the skins, and Mr K knew what to play, laying down the path, so the Boss Ross could lead the way, and let us begin the strings, the style of Mr Ryall making the tones ring, and the sounds beguile.

And he smokes Andy Burns heating the fields of waves, painting the landscapes for the brass fire to pave, De Hill never too steep to climb nor tire, passing the horizon and rising to the sky, Vinnie and Bruce the wings of flight that reach the sounds of heaven, two angels Ri and Lay, right and left of the gates, where a wingspan speaks deeply, and we take Stockley, mix and master, and lo the task is complete.

All songs written and arranged by Sam Linton-Smith, except Cunjah Man, a traditional poem.
